Starting this year, AYUDH Chicago will join together with the volunteers of MA Center Chicago on the first Sunday of every month to cook and serve food to the residents at Hesed House. Hesed House is a shelter located in Aurora, IL, and is a home to people who have suffered from substance abuse, mental health issues, homelessness, and many other ailments. On January 3, the Chicago chapter was in the kitchens at 8am and started to chop vegetables, stir sauces, and pack food into trays. They made rice, chili, potato mix, salad, and vegetable fritters. At the shelter, they served food to 96 people. They can’t wait to continue this every month!
