Bake Sale for Chennai Flood Relief: Ann Arbor, MI.
AYUDH Michigan held a bake sale to raise money for the Chennai Flood relief efforts at the University of Michigan this month. We had three kinds of delicious homemade cookies, hot chai and fresh brewed coffee. Everything was so professionally prepared it was hard to believe it was actually homemade!
Surprisingly, we found that many people were interested in donating or purchasing food when they heard about the flood. They weren’t just drawn to the baked goods. Some donated without even purchasing anything. In addition to raising money, we were also able to raise awareness of what happened in Chennai by talking to some of the students.
Even though most of the students were on holiday break, we were able to raise $109! This is very encouraging and we look forward to repeating this again when the semester starts.
